Jerry
had previously done a sculptured bust of the then Governor Reagan
when he was in office in the state of California. In 1982 he
was contacted by the White House to do an informal portrait
of the President, which he eagerly accepted. Considering it
such a real honor he made the portrait a gift to the Reagans.
The local newspaper where he lived at the time in Victorville,
California ran a full-page
story on the painting and the story behind it. Now some
24 years later he is offering a limited edition hand signed
Giclée of this now famous painting. This edition is reproduced
to the exact size that the original painting was done. The original
hung in the White House during the President's term of office
and is now located in the Reagan Museum in Simi, California. |
In
August 2002, 11
official postage stamps were issued by the Republic of Benin,
West Africa in honor of the Baron's art. This recent tribute
is just one of many in the artist's illustrious career. This
accomplishment was noted in a front page article by The
Proctor Journal and the San
Diego Union-Tribune.
The artist continues his painting in Port St. Lucie, Florida
where he reflects upon and savors the renewed interest in his
art through out the world. |
